About the Organization

A well-known national organization in Egypt plays a significant role in building ICT capacity and developing digital skills across the country. As part of its mission to strengthen the future technology workforce, the organization recently expanded its focus to include cybersecurity awareness for younger generations.

Challenges

Before implementing Simulations Labs, the organization faced several key challenges:

Finding the Right Educational Platform
The organization needed a way to present cybersecurity concepts in a way that was engaging, simple, and fun, while still delivering real educational value.

Providing Hands-On Learning
Traditional teaching methods were not enough. The program required an interactive learning experience where students could practice and experiment, rather than just listen to theoretical explanations.

Solution

To address these challenges, the organization used Simulations Labs to design and deliver a specialized cybersecurity learning experience for students.

Gamified Hands-On Learning
They used Simulations Labs to include practical labs to the course, which allowed the students to practice what they learned through a gamified learning platform, allowing them to acquire practical cybersecurity skills in an engaging environment.

Awareness and Practical Skills Development
The program focused on both raising cybersecurity awareness and helping students develop basic technical understanding through exercises and challenges

End-of-Course CTF Competition

At the end of the program, the organization used Simulations Labs to host a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, allowing students to apply what they learned in a fun and competitive environment.

Outcome

The training program was successfully delivered to around 500 students from across Egypt.

Participants gained a better understanding of cybersecurity concepts, learned safe digital practices, and experienced hands-on learning in an interactive environment.

The initiative helped introduce the next generation to cybersecurity in a fun, educational, and engaging way, supporting the long-term goal of strengthening cybersecurity awareness among young students.
